The ETAMIC open air jets air snap gages are used mainly for the gagging of crankshafts main and pin journals (camshafts, crankshafts,
transmission shafts...)

Functions :

• The ETAMIC air snaps with 3 sets of air jets enable users to check size at
  3 levels, taper, hourglass shape, barrel shape and roundness in seconds.

The aluminium handle is extremely lightweight. The air snaps can be used with the ETAMIC comparator (Portamic, Pneutamic), or with the TPE99 transducer

Features :

• The snap body is made of high quality hardened steel. The outside surfaces are protected by a special TICN coating for outstanding resistance to wear and shocks.
• Two reversible brass bumpers are bolted on the end of the snap to prevent scratching or damaging the gauge surfaces and to protect and to extend the life of snap body.

APPLICATIONS :

The air snap gauges are used mainly for the gauging of crankshafts main and pin journals, camshafts bearing diameters and transmission shaft diameters.
The measurement of diameter is taken by 1, 2 or 3 pairs of air jets. The ergonomic design sets the ETAMIC snap apart.

The accuracy and repeatability of the measurement is not dependant on the user's skills or experience.

INTEGRATION OF AIR SNAPS IN GAUGING SYSTEMS :

• Use with the "PORTAMIC"
  The "PORTAMIC" cannot be used with any other snap than the E50004x/0x0 series.
• Use with one or more "PNEUTAMIC"
  The "PNEUTAMIC" can be used with any type of air snap. Each pair of air jets is connected to one gauge port of a "PNEUTAMIC". Additional comparator can be added for measurement of taper, hourglass barrel shape and roundness.

• Use with TPE99.1 air to electronic converter and CMZ03 computer gage :
  
  - Each pair of air jets is connected to the "gauge" port of one TPE99 air to electronic converter using flexible hoses and fittings supplied with air snap.
  
  - The TPE99 converts the air pressure signal into 4-20mA current loop signal that the CMZ03 flexible computer gauge will read, store, process and display.

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS :
In addition to the line of standard air snaps shown in this brochure, Etamic designs and builds air snaps for special applications and automatic gauging machines.

• Each snap has (1) pair of air jets :
  Gantry loaded automatic gauging station for infeed centerless grinding machine. The system gages up to 9 diameters at the same time and compensates the grinder automatically. The fixture is quickly retool able to measure a large variety of camshafts.
