The ETAMIC air spindles with open air jets are used to measure through
and blind bores

The size measurement is taken without contact by two measuring jets diametrically opposed, located apart on a grinded cylindrical body.
The measured diameters are ranging from 3 to 150 mm.
The spindles can be fixed or movable and have a considerable introduction clearance.
They can be used with all ETAMIC measuring instruments line, either directly on a visual unit or indirectly via the intermediary of a transducer.
Their strength allows for the inspection of several hundred thousand parts with no change in measurement quality.

The use of the ETAMIC open jets measuring instruments is particularly easy and requires no knowledge of metrology.

Selection of an air spindle :

  1. Type of bores
     Through bores : standard air spindle.
     Blind bores : spindles with air jets
     placed near the end.

  2. Diameter to be measured
      (centered in proportion to the
     tolerance interval ØN) =
     (Ømini+Ømaxi)/2
  3. Selection of measuring range
      Measuring range > or =2x tolerance      interval (in micrometers)

  4. Selection of treatment
      Non-treated, treated steel or TICN       treatment.
